The South African Police Service (SAPS) is looking into claims that Brown Mogotsi, a controversial businessman and political fixer, was the target of an apparent hit in Vosloorus, which is east of Johannesburg. Social media accounts that aren't confirmed say that Mogotsi was in a car that was shot at in Vosloorus Extension 25. The vehicle is said to have been struck by more than eight bullets. The driver and Mogotsi's health are unknown at this time. Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, the national spokesperson for the SAPS, stated in a brief message to members of the media on Tuesday morning that she was traveling to the Vosloorus police station in Gauteng to verify the reports. “I’m heading to Vosloorus SAPS to ascertain reports about Brown Mogotsi,” Mathe said.
