Nzimande and other SACP leaders argue that the DA's ideological positions are fundamentally at odds with the ANC's vision of a National Democratic Revolution. The SACP views the collaboration with the DA as undermining the struggle against unemployment, inequality, and capitalist exploitation. Solly Mapaila, SACP's Secretary-General, has publicly stated that working with the DA contradicts the progressive goals of the alliance, escalating criticism toward ANC leadership, including President Cyril Ramaphosa【6】【7】.

In response, ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has expressed concern over the public nature of the SACP's critiques, emphasizing the need to manage alliance disputes internally.
