SAFA president Danny Jordaan is currently involved in a high-profile legal case. He faces allegations of fraud and theft related to the misuse of R1.3 million in South African Football Association (SAFA) funds, reportedly for personal purposes such as hiring security and a public relations firm. The funds in question were allegedly used between 2014 and 2018, partly to manage Jordaan’s public image after rape accusations surfaced in 2017 from former ANC MP Jennifer Ferguson.

Authorities have acted on these allegations with a raid at SAFA House, where they seized devices and documents to aid their investigation. Civil groups like Not In My Name International are pressuring Jordaan to step down during the legal proceedings, emphasizing the importance of protecting SAFA's reputation. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has also launched an independent probe, demanding transparency to ensure compliance with CAF and FIFA regulations.
