Nhaca’s public defiance of the ANC’s decisions, including vocal criticisms after her recall, further intensified the situation. As a result, she was suspended from the ANC entirely on September 28, 2024. Her suspension means that she is barred from attending ANC meetings, including those in her municipality, and she is no longer allowed to represent the party in any official capacity. This disciplinary action comes as part of the ANC's broader efforts to restructure and strengthen its leadership at various levels of government.

The party emphasized that members must prioritize collective objectives over personal interests, and any deviation from this undermines both leadership integrity and party unity.
